Fishing Reports

January 14, 2010

The walleye fishing has been a little slower than normal for opening season. We are getting some good catches of walleye however, the bite is lite and you have to really pay attention to your lines. We are getting plenty of good size herring and good catches of perch and pike. I have seen more ling caught so far this hard water season than I have since the late 70's. Ling are a great tasteing fish and are known in the north as "poor mans lobster". Congradulations to Peter Fitzpatrick who caught and released a beutiful 26" walleye on January 14,2010. Good luck and be safe.
